High chrome alloy mainly include A05, A07, A49, A33, A51, A61....etc. High-chromium wear-resistant cast iron A05 (KmTBCr27, High Chrome 27% ) has high hardness and heat treatment hardness of HRC58~62. It has good abrasion resistance. As for alkaline mixed liquid, it has good corrosion resistance and can be used in strong abrasion conditions.

High chrome alloy mainly include A05, A07, A49, A33, A51, A61....etc.

1. High-chromium wear-resistant cast iron A05 (KmTBCr27, High Chrome 27% ) has high hardness and heat treatment hardness of HRC58~62. It has good abrasion resistance. As for alkaline mixed liquid, it has good corrosion resistance and can be used in strong abrasion conditions. The casting process of high chromium cast iron is difficult and difficult to process. However, it has a long service life and moderate price, and is the most common material used for slurry pump.

This alloy provides a great balance of hardness and toughness, making it effective to pump high abrasion and corrosive liquid. 

It provides modest corrosion resistance pump components such as the impellers, casings, volute liners and throatbushes.

General Description
High Chrome 27% is a wear resistant white iron that offers excellent performance under erosive conditions. The alloy can be effectively used in a wide range of slurry types, like mine slurry, power plant, industry waste and etc

As slurry pump material, the high wear resistance of High Chrome 27% is provided by the presence of hard carbides within its microstructure. High Chrome 27% is particularly suited to applications where mild corrosion resistance, as well as erosion resistance is required.

Chemical Resistance
High Chrome 27% is generally not suitable for highly corrosive duties. The alloy can be used in mild corrosive duties, within a pH range of 5 to 12, for silphuric and nitric acids, or sodium hydroxide applications.
High Chrome 27% Parts Availability
Most wet-end slurry pump wear parts can be produced in High Chrome 27%. The most common parts are as follows: Slurry Pump Impellers, Throatbush, Volute liners, Frame plate liner insert, Casings.


Application Recommendations
High-Chrome 27% can be used for pumping a wide range of mild corrosive slurries. The alloy gives very excellent wear life for a wide variety of particle sizes and hardness. Usually, High-Chrome 27% is most cost effective for particles greater than 100um in size.

 

2. A07 (KmTBCr15Mo3) A07 is the wear-resistant king material developed on the basis of KmTBCr15Mo3. KmTBCr15Mo3 is the current wear-resistant material, which is generally used in the transportation of slurry with high concentration, high lift and strong abrasion, but its application is limited due to its high price.

(1). Heat treatment hardness: HRC58-70, with high hardness and strong wear resistance, known as the king of wear resistance.

(2). Brittle material: used for abrasive wear with medium impact load.

(3). Cr15Mo3 should be used when the median particle size of solid materials is coarse, and KmTBCr27 should be used when the median particle size is fine

 

3. A49 (duplex stainless white iron) This material not only has the wear resistance of high chromium alloy, but also has good corrosion resistance and strong acid resistance. It is especially suitable for the pump of flue gas desulfurization system. It is the metal material of flue gas desulfurization pump, with very good service effect and long service life.

(1). Heat treatment hardness: HRC44-50.

(2). Corrosion resistance: Austenite gives it corrosion resistance, which is resistant to sulfuric acid solution with PH of 4, sodium hydroxide solution with PH of 13, and CL with certain concentration.

(3). Abrasion resistance: Carbide gives alloy wear resistance, mainly resisting the abrasion of gypsum solid particles.

 

4. A33 (duplex stainless white iron)

(1) Heat treatment hardness HRC35-50II

(2) Corrosion resistance: Austenite gives it corrosion resistance and can withstand sulfuric acid solution with PH of 1.

(3) Abrasion resistance: carbide gives the alloy wear resistance, mainly resisting phosphogypsum, nitric acid, sulfuric acid and other media.

 

5. A61, contains 50% chromium carbide and achieves outstanding erosion resistance. This makes it ideal for conditions with a broad particle size distribution such as mill discharge slurries.

 

6. A68 alloy benefits from new metallurgical advances that combine the robust wear resistance of A61 with the anti-corrosive properties of A05 alloy. This makes it ideal for moderately corrosive environments that require a harder material than A05 alloy.
