Introduction of SLS Technology

Selective laser sintering (SLS) is a layer by layer sintering "additive" molding process. A layer of powder preheated to a specific temperature near the burning point is paved to the base plate of the forming cylinder or the upper surface of the formed part by using the pressing roller, and the laser beam is controlled to sinter the powder layer according to the cross-sectional profile of the part, so that the powder can be bonded with the adjacent formed part. After the completion of one layer, the workbench will drop by one layer, and the spreading roller will spread a layer of uniform dense powder on it, and the sintering of a new layer of cross-section will be carried out until the whole model is completed.

 

This process also has the following advantages:

  1. There are many kinds of sintering materials, which are widely used in SLS printing. The diversified molding materials make SLS process suitable for a variety of application fields, such as prototype design verification, mold mother mold, precision casting investment mold, complex parts and art design.
  2. The design and manufacturing cycle of parts is short, and it takes only a few hours to dozens of hours from design to manufacturing, which is especially suitable for new product development.
  3. High forming accuracy.
  4. Without supporting structure, the manufacturing process and post-processing are simple, and complex structures can be printed, such as hollow structures, hollow structures, thin-walled structures, etc.
  5. The material utilization rate is high, and the unsintered powder can be recycled.
  6. PEEK, pure nylon, pure nylon plus carbon fiber, pure nylon plus glass beads and other materials can be sintered. The average tensile strength of nylon plus carbon fiber material after sintering is greater than 70MPa, the average tensile modulus of elasticity is greater than 6000MPa, the average bending strength is greater than 100MPa, and the average bending modulus of elasticity is greater than 5000MPa.
